Indian Head Massage in Bristol
Sometimes you don't need a full body massage. Sometimes you just need someone to take the weight off your shoulders, ease the tension from your neck and let your head finally stop buzzing.
Indian Head Massage does exactly that. It's a gentle, focused treatment that works on the areas where most of us hold stress.
What is Indian Head Massage?
A Focused Treatment for Where Stress Lives
Working With Energy and Pressure Points
With or Without Oil
How Indian Head Massage Helps You
This treatment is for your nervous system as much as your muscles. When you're stressed, your body stays on high alert. Your shoulders stay raised. Your breathing stays shallow. Your mind won't switch off.
People find it particularly helpful for:
- Stress that's settled into your neck and shoulders
- Tension headaches that start at the base of your skull
- That exhausted, overwhelmed feeling when you can't think straight
- Jaw tension from clenching or grinding your teeth
- When you need to feel held and safe, not pushed or fixed

The gentle, rhythmic movements are deeply calming. Many people drift into a peaceful, almost meditative state where your mind finally goes quiet.
One client described it as having "the load taken off." That's exactly what it does. For a little while, you don't have to carry everything. You can just receive.
What Happens During Your Session
Indian Head Massage can be done seated in a comfortable chair or lying down, depending on what works best for you and what else we're including in your session. Many treatments are done seated, which means you can keep your clothes on and don't need to think about getting on and off a massage table.
Your first appointment includes an extra 15 minutes to chat through what's going on for you and what you're hoping to get from the treatment. I need to know if you've got any health issues that might affect how we work.
During The Session
You're In Control
The Immediate Difference
You Might Feel:
- Genuinely calm, not just distracted from stress

- Sleepy and ready to rest deeply
- Lighter across their upper body
- Actually capable of handling what's next
Who Benefits Most from This Massage?
If you're dealing with mental stress
If you're short on time
If you're uncomfortable undressing
About Your Practitioner
I came to massage as a recipient long before I became a practitioner. I know what it feels like to desperately need someone to take the weight off your shoulders because I lived that way for 15 years.
Working above a pub in London, my weekly massage session was the only thing that kept me remotely sane. I learned what good treatment feels like from the receiving end.
When I trained in Indian Head Massage, I brought that understanding with me. I know the difference between someone going through the motions and someone who's genuinely present with what you need.
I've trained in Tui Na, Chinese oil massage and Indian Head Massage. Each one brings something different to how I work with clients. The beauty of offering all three is that I can adapt to whatever your body needs on the day.
Sometimes that's the gentle, nurturing approach of Indian Head Massage. Sometimes you need something stronger. We'll work it out together.

Why Choose Indian Head Massage?
This is the gentlest of the three massage styles I offer, but gentle doesn't mean ineffective. Sometimes gentle is exactly what your body needs to feel safe enough to release.
If you've tried other massage styles and found them too intense, or if you've struggled to relax during treatments because you can't switch off, Indian Head Massage might be your answer.
The focused nature means you get concentrated attention on the areas that matter most. Nothing is wasted. Every moment of the treatment is working where you actually need it.
And because you stay clothed and can receive it seated, it removes many of the barriers that stop people trying massage in the first place. There's no awkwardness. No vulnerability. Just you, a comfortable chair and someone who knows how to help you feel better.
