Tui Na Massage in Bristol
Tui Na is a traditional Chinese massage that works with your body's energy channels and pressure points to release tension and move things that feel stuck. Unlike other massage styles, you stay fully clothed while we work to shift what's blocking you, whether that's physical tightness or something deeper.
What is Tui Na Massage?
The Meaning Behind the Name

The Fully Clothed Massage Experience
How Tui Na Helps You Feel Better
Your body holds onto more than you realise. Physical tension from sitting at a desk all day, emotional stress from life's pressures, old injuries that never quite settled. Tui Na helps release what you've been carrying.
Clients often find relief from
- Persistent neck and shoulder tension
- Headaches that won't shift
- That heavy, stuck feeling when stress builds up
- Tightness that limits how you move
- The need to properly switch off and reset

One client didn't even mention her neck problem when she first came in. After three sessions working on the area, she told me the headaches she'd had for years had stopped. Her neck tension had simply gone.
I can't promise the same results for everyone, but I can promise to listen to what your body needs and work with it, not against it.
What Happens During Your Session
Before we start, we'll have a proper chat. I want to know what's brought you here, where you're feeling discomfort and what you're hoping to get from the session.
First-time clients get an extra 15 minutes to fill in a quick health form and talk through any concerns. This matters because there are some situations where massage isn't suitable, and I need to know you're in safe hands.
During The Session
You Might Experience
- Warmth moving through your body A sense of energy shifting
- Deep relaxation or, occasionally, a burst of alertness
- Emotional release (this is normal and welcome)
The Hours After Your Treatment
You Might Feel:
- Deeply relaxed and ready for a nap
- Energised and clearer than you have in weeks
- Slight tenderness at specific points (particularly if there was a blockage)
- A need to drink more water than usual
- Your digestion changing (your body clearing out what it doesn't need)
Who Benefits Most from This Massage?
While Tui Na can help most people, certain situations make it particularly effective.
If you're dealing with persistent issues
If you're open to emotional release
If you prefer to stay clothed
About Your Practitioner
I came to Tui Na as a client first. I spent 15 years living and working above a pub in London, and massage became my weekly lifeline. That little Chinese clinic near the pub became where I went to undo the week's stress and actually feel like myself again.
One dramatic session involving fever and some rather intense pressure points (which I definitely don't recreate with clients) showed me just how powerful this work can be when you know what you're doing.
After years of receiving massage, I wanted to learn how to give that same relief to others. I completed an intensive nine-month Tui Na course in Cheltenham, including written exams on Traditional Chinese Medicine, and around 120 case studies. But honestly, I'm still learning something new with every client.
I don't just know the techniques. I know what it feels like to desperately need someone to help your body let go.

Why Choose Tui Na Over Other Massage Styles?
If you've tried other types of massage and they haven't quite hit the mark, Tui Na might be what you're looking for.
It's different because:
- You stay clothed (no awkward moments)
- It works with your body's energy system, not just muscle tissue
- The approach is tailored every single time, based on what you need that day
- It can address things that feel more emotional or energetic, not just physical
- The techniques have been refined over thousands of years
Some clients come because they've heard about it. Others find their way here after Swedish massage, sports massage or other styles didn't quite give them what they needed. Many keep coming back because they finally feel heard by someone who works with their whole body, not just the sore bits.
